Concrete Waterproofer

This water-based acrylic sealer is economical as it is practical.  It adds protection to dry or porous concrete from the effects of northern climates.  Although not intended for vehicular traffic, this item is for interior or exterior substrates. 

RECOMMENDED PRODUCT AND HOW-TO:

  1. Product Supplies

    1. Nylon/polyester brush
    2. Soft woven roller cover with a 3/8" - 1/2" nap
    3. Roller frame
    4. Soap/water
    5. Paint tray
    6. Optional airless sprayer (Pressure 1500 psi, tip: .011" - .013") Be sure to back roll to work product smoothly into surface to ensure a properly penetrated finish.
    7. Conventional sprayer (air pressure 30-50 psi, fluid pressure 15-20 psi, cap/tip: 704/FX or equivilant
    8. High volume low pressure (HVLP) sprayer (cap/needle: titan #3 or equivilant)
  2. Product Preparation

    Apply under dry conditions only. Do not apply if rain is expected within 24 hours following application.

    Air and surface temperature should be between 50° and 90°F for 24 hours following application. Stir thoroughly before and during application. Do not reduce or over apply this product.

    New concrete must cure for 45 days. No etching is required when using on a textured or broom finish.  For very smooth surfaces (highly troweled with no porosity), use 1 part H&C Etching Solution to two parts water. All surfaces should be clean, dry and free of grease, oil, paint, sealers etc.  To clean, use H&C Cleaner Degreaser, following label instructions.

  3. Product Application

    One coat is usually adequate, but for extremely porous surfaces, apply a second coat within 2-4 hours of the first coat.  Do not over apply this product, it may result in a hazy or whitish finish. 

    If your surface has corners or edges, coat those first with your brush.  Then using a synthetic brush, pad, roller mop, squeegee or sprayer, apply one coat to the entire surface.

    On horizontal surfaces, remove puddles by working the product into the surface or wiping it with a piece of cloth.

    Drying time:

    Touch                  1 hour

    Recoat                 2-4 hours

    Light Foot Traffic   24 hours
